One Stylish Pair: Brooke & Gianni
Brooke and Gianni exchanged their vows at the picturesque Ironbark Vineyard at the Hunter Valley on the 28th of April this year. In front of 142 guests the couple were married at a beautiful chapel on site, and everyone enjoyed the magnificent surrounds and reception afterwards.
Considering Brooke and Gianni met in the back garden of their apartment block over a glass of wine, Ironbark Vineyard was the perfect place to host such a special celebration.
Brooke’s meticulous attention to detail, and fabulous ability to coordinate colours meant that her wedding day was perfectly matched from the invitations to the table Vintage elegance with a French twist. I was really going for something that was very classic and elegant, with an old time French feel to it.
How would you want your guests to describe your special day in 3 words?Elegant, classic, sophisticated and timeless with a French flair.
I wanted to touch on all 5 senses. I wanted them to feel the love, taste good wine, smell beautiful flowers, hear beautiful music and see beauty.
The dresses were most important. I wanted them to be able to blend in with the sandstone and the surrounds at the venue. The table settings were also important, so they were the two things I focused on first. I chose soft pinks and champagne colours which really blended in well with our invitations.
How did you go about choosing DreamDay as the stationery company for your wedding invitations?I wanted something I could do online that was in Australia and I could change. I didn’t want something that was shipped from abroad. I wanted to be able to see, feel and touch them, but I wanted to do as much as I could of that online. So it was really good also that DreamDay sent me a free sample.
How did you choose the colour and theme of your stationery palette?It had to match the rest of the venue and I wanted it to be carried right through. I wanted the people who were coming to our wedding to engage with our theme right from the beginning with beautiful, classy, elegant stationery and I wanted that to flow through right until the very end. I wanted our wedding invitations to start the journey of our wedding for our guests.
Did you find it a challenge to match all of your wedding colours with your different wedding components, including your stationery?
Not really, DreamDay had such a selection I didn’t have a problem at all with blending and choosing my colours to compliment the theme I wanted to portray.
What are your tips for brides out there trying to match everything from their stationery to their cake, to their wedding’s colour palette?Flip through magazines, and get images of what you really like and choose your colour palette from there. I saw an image of a bunch of flowers in a magazine. I really liked the look and feel of the flowers so I used that as a guide for my wedding colours. Find pictures you really want to emulate or the style that you particularly like and let that assist you.
Did you use any specific online tools or websites to help you choose your wedding colours?
I just really chose the photo that I really liked of the bunch of flowers from a magazine and used that as a guide in terms of the colour palette.
Do you have any tips for brides out there organising their wedding right now?Research and go for convenience. Outsource as much as you can and as cheaply as you can. Save money in the finer details.
