Its time to order your wedding invitations! You’ve found the person of your dreams and are well on the way organizing your wedding day. You’ve made some important decisions and now its time to announce your wonderful plans to your intended guests. Your wedding invitations are an essential part of your wedding plans and will convey all the information and details that your guests will need to help you celebrate this magical event. You can set the mood for a perfect wedding day with the correct wedding invitation and give your guests a glimpse into the theme and style of your wedding. Therefore it is essential you get the perfect invitation for you.
Our team here at DreamDay Invitations have worked together tirelessly to create a range of wedding invitations to inspire every bride and groom to be.
Here we have compiled a list of our top 10 tips to think about when ordering your wedding Invitations.

  • 1.    Make sure your bookings for your church, venue and reception are confirmed and times and dates  double checked before submitting your order for invitations to be printed.
  • 2.    Aim to order your wedding invitations 3 – 4 weeks before you would like to send them out and that should be 2 – 3 months before your wedding. This will allow guests from out of town to make plans for travel and give you plenty of time to organize final numbers for your caterer etc.
  • 3.    Decide on how you would like to word your invitation. Whose names will appear first? Who is hosting your wedding? Are the Bride and Groom paying for the wedding themselves? In this case it would be their names that would appear as inviting the guest. Or do you want parents names? Are either the brides or grooms parents  paying for the wedding or are both sets of parents hosting the wedding? Please see other articles on this site for more information on wording etiquette and suggestions.
  • 4.    Choose a favourite theme or colour and think about how you can incorporate this theme into the rest of your wedding plans. Think about bridesmaids colours, flower colours, suit colours, and reception and table decorations and work to a theme to bring your entire wedding day plans together and harmonize into one perfectly co-ordinated day.
  • 5.    Order a sample. Very important. We strongly recommend the purchase of a sample before ordering your invitations. Browse our website and find the designs you like to most. For the small fee of $4.00 each incl postage, we will send you a copy of your design printed on all 3 paper types plus a matching printed envelope. You can see for yourself how each type of card will look with your chosen colour. Just click on your chosen design and then click the purple ‘sample’ button. Go to the checkout, or continue shopping and collect as many design samples as you like. Your samples will be printed and posted within 1 – 2 business days.
  • 6.    Check your guest list. Check it twice! If you intend to have your invitations printed with individual guest names, make sure of your guest’s name spelling and correct addresses before you start.
  • 7.    Think about accessories. Would you like to include R.S.V.P. cards with your invitations to speed up reply’s? Would you like to include Wishing Well or Gift Registry cards, and do you need to include Directions and Accommodation cards? All these accessories provide important information to your guests that may help you and them to enjoy a more relaxed day.
  • 8.    Order in excess of your needs to start with. Many brides have last minute additions to their guest list and you don’t want anyone to feel they were left out by not receiving an official invitation. DreamDay Invitations will include 5 spares at no extra cost, but if you think you may need more, order them with your initial order. We are unable to accept any orders for reprints less than 30. Don’t forget anyone over 18 should receive their own invitation.
  • 9.    Make sure you include all the relevant information. You should include names of the hosts, names of the bride and groom, day, date and time of the wedding and venue address, and reception venue addresses and times. It is a good idea to include a dress code, and definitely include a R.S.V.P. date, address and phone number, even if you send Reply cards.
  • 10.    Proof read your data.  Proof read and proof read again!  Have someone else proof read your order before you submit your invitations for print. Your invitations will print exactly as you entered your data, so be careful, not carefree.

And one more…

  • 11.    Above all, DON’T STRESS, enjoy ordering your wedding invitations, enjoy opening your parcel and seeing your beautiful invitations and your names in print for the first time, and be assured that DreamDay Invitations are committed to do all we can, to help make your DreamDay come true.
