Pictured above are DreamDay Invitations in ‘Everlasting Orchid’, ‘Champagne’, and ‘Harmony’.
DreamDay Invitations are available in either Square or DL shapes, and all designs are available with many other stunning and useful stationery products to help and enhance your wedding day plans.
Invitations should be worded using correct etiquette and appropriate acknowledgements. Primarily, the persons paying for the wedding will be the ones hosting, and therefore should be the persons mentioned first as hosting, or ‘inviting’.
There are many different wedding scenarios and circumstances, and each will be different for every couple. You should take special consideration and extra care to choose and decide exactly how you will word your invitation. You should discuss the options fully with your partner, and their family, beforehand and determine their intentions and expectations, as you do not want to offend any family member or family member to be from the onset.
This wording will depend on your circumstances and how formal or traditional you wish to be. If the bride’s parents are paying for the wedding then typically only their names will appear on the invitation except, of course, the names of the bride and groom, but sometimes the groom’s parents are mentioned under his name as eg. “Son of John & Jenny Smith”.
Dreamday Invitations have everything you might need for your wedding stationery and we have many different styles and wording options on our website for you to choose from. Just take a look at the options and decide which one best suits your circumstances. You may also choose to match other stationery items to your invitation and each of our designs are available with matching accessory stationery.
Below is brief description of a few of our most popular items to help you.
• Rsvp Cards are sent out with invitation and allows your guest to respond to your invitation with minimal trouble. It will generally also mean that you should receive your RSVP’s quicker than if your guest is left to purchase their own RSVP.
• Wishing Well Cards are sent to your guests to inform them of your desire for either a gift of money, donation to favourite charity instead of traditional wedding gifts. They usually take the form of a poem and you can choose one that you like the best or come up with your own. These cards should always be sent on a separate card to the invitation.
Note. Never include gift information on the body of the invitation. You can include a separate card within the envelope but whether you choose to send gift information is a personal choice, but it is worth noting that some cultures do not recommend the inclusion of these cards with the invitation as it can be seen as being presumptuous and take the focus away from the invitation and guest and puts emphasis on a gift.
• Gift Registry Cards are similar to Wishing Well Cards but primarily convey to your guest that you have pre chosen and registered your choices for certain household items you might need at a particular store. This method of gift choices makes it easier for your guests to chose something that you will like and is particularly handy for couple that have not had a previous home.
Note. As with wishing well cards, they should be a separate card and never include gift information on the body of the invitation.
• Direction Cards can be included with your invitation and are used to give your guest exact directions to the location of your wedding and reception. They are particularly helpful when your location is a little hard to find and you can include parking instructions, which can help your guest to make it on time.
• Accommodation Cards are included with the invitation if you have interstate guests to let them know you have pre-reserved accommodation for them at a particular motel if they would like.
• Save the Date Cards are usually sent prior to sending the invitation if you have already chosen a special date to get married, but have not yet had time to organise your invitations and you wish to ensure your friends and family keep the date free to attend your wedding. They are particularly handy for guests who may have to book flights or take time off work to attend.
• Place Cards can be purchased to match your invitations and are used to inform your guests at your reception where you have allocated them to sit for dinner. Individual place cards should be purchased for every person attending your reception. Place cards can also be attached to your bonbonniere gift which then in turn doubles as your place card.
• Thank you cards can also purchased to match your invitations and wedding theme and are sent after the bride and groom have returned from their honeymoon to thank your guests for their wishes and gifts.
• Menus and Order of Service covers can also be printed and matched to your overall invitation theme. Please see our website for ideas.
